The NOW Foods brand supplement contains a B vitamin complex, plus choline, inositol and para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA). The product helps to supplement vitamin deficiencies.
The product includes:
- Tiamine otherwise known as Vitamin B1, is strongly associated with the production of glucose in the human body. It influences adequate energy metabolism and proper psychological functions.
- Ryboflavin a.k.a. B2 is essential for the proper functioning of certain enzymes, the nervous system and the organ of vision. Its deficiencies lead, among other things, to problems with mucous membranes.
- Niacin - vitamin B3 or vitamin PP, is the third B vitamin discovered by scientists. Among other things, it is involved in metabolic changes.
- Vitamin B6 is formed by a group of 6 organic chemical compounds. Among other things, it is responsible for the good functioning of the nervous system, immune system, metabolism: energy, protein, glycogen and homocysteine.
- Folic acid - Vitamin B9 is very important for the development of the foetus - an adequate amount allows for the correct formation of the neural tube. In addition, folic acid affects the functioning of the digestive system, stimulates the formation of new red blood cells and protects the body against certain cancers.
- Vitamin B12 - otherwise known as cobalamin, is an organic chemical compound that plays an important role in erythrocyte production. Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal functioning of the immune and nervous systems, red blood cell formation, homocysteine metabolism and energy metabolism. In addition, adequate levels of cobalamin help to reduce feelings of fatigue.
- Biotin, or vitamin B7 or, in other words, vitamin H. Biotin is most commonly referred to as a beauty vitamin due to the fact that, as studies show, adequate levels of it affect the appearance of hair and skin. Vitamin B7 contributes to the normal metabolism of energy and macronutrients, and also influences the functioning of the nervous system. Biotin deficiencies manifest themselves in hair loss and brittle nails, among other symptoms.
- Pantothenic acid - is actually a mixture of several chemical compounds: pantothenic acid, pantheine, panthenol and coenzyme A. In the human body, it is primarily involved in the metabolism of proteins, sugars and fats. It influences the nervous system, reduces feelings of fatigue and tiredness, is responsible for normal mental performance, energy metabolism. Pantothenic acid also contributes to the synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters.
- PABA - para-aminobenzoic acid. A compound known as vitamin B10 (it is part of folic acid, or vitamin B9, among other things), classified as a non-protein amino acid. It is found in foods such as grains, eggs, milk, meat, mushrooms and even beer yeast.
- Choline - is a constituent of selected phospholipids, which is why scientists originally included it among the B vitamins, calling it vitamin B4. Today, it is only recognised as a vitamin-like substance. This substance contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine and lipids. It also influences the proper functioning of the liver. Naturally, choline is mainly found in egg yolks, liver and milk.
- Inositol - The name inositol refers to a set of nine stereoisomers, but mostly when saying 'inositol' one has in mind one stereoisomer, myo-inositol. Myo-inositol is a molecule similar in structure to glucose. It may improve fertility in people with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and also sensitise the body to insulin.
