NOW Foods NAC - what ingredients does it contain?
By reviewing the Product Label tab, you will notice that the NOW Foods brand supplement has N-acetylcysteine, molybdenum and selenium in its ingredients. What is worth knowing about these ingredients? NAC is an N-acetylated derivative of L-cysteine which, when ingested, is metabolised to cysteine and then to glycine and glutathione. Molybdenum contributes to the maintenance of normal sulphur amino acid metabolism.
In turn, selenium:
- contributes to normal spermatogenesis,
- helps maintain healthy hair and nails,
- helps maintain normal immune function,
- helps maintain normal thyroid function,
- helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
