It occurs naturally in vegetables such as cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, kale, kohlrabi, rocket and turnip, among others. However, the compound taken in a supplement has much greater stability and bioavailability. This is because it is not subjected to heat treatment, oxygen and light as is the case with vegetables.
