Swanson's Hair, Skin & Nails Complex is a combination of choline, MSM, l-cysteine, inositol, PABA and field horsetail extract.
The ingredients include:
- MSM - is a natural sulfur compound, methylsulfonylmethane. Sulphur is found in the human body at 0.2 mg per kilogram of body weight. It is also found in amino acids, including methionine or cysteine. It is the main component of collagen that builds hair, skin and nails.
- Choline - is part of selected phospholipids, which is why scientists initially included it among the B vitamins, calling it vitamin B4. Today, it is known that it can only be considered a vitamin-like substance. This substance contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine and lipids. It also influences the proper functioning of the liver.
- Inositol - or rather myo-inositol, a single molecule stereoisomer - is particularly important for women - it is even called a female health supplement. It can improve fertility in people with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and also sensitise the body to insulin.
- Horsetail - a perennial plant used as a herbal and cosmetic resource. It contains flavonoids and is a source of silica, which affects the elasticity of the skin and is a component of hair and nails, as well as connective tissue.
